@mattblaze that reminds me of how there were claims of voting fraud based on an anomaly in a specific visualization
basically, a municipality is not the same as a voting district, but some places reporting on the voting results still reported it by municipality
mail-in ballots have their own counting locations in germany, and in smaller municipalities these may be shared between multiple municipalities (of the same district).
voters are registered to a specific polling location, which doesn’t change even if you request a mail-in ballot or vote early. this essentially means that mail-in ballot locations have 0 registered voters, but still have valid votes.
and in a town sharing a mail-in ballot location with two towns of similar size, assuming 80% of eligible voters vote, and 1/3 by mail (both values are similar to the national average last federal election here), you’d get a “participation rate” of 133%. this naturally disappears if you look at the raw election statistics (by polling location), or by voting district

honestly it’s great if there’s is real reason to upgrade the ram at a later point in time but i guess less so if there’s just an artificial and feasibly low limit before then

@IngaLovinde it was definitely possible and despite a large dram price increase around that time honestly not too outrageously priced either
of raccourse in 2017 there was genuinely no reason to pair a raccore i5-7300U together with 64GB of RAM
for the market and the time it made sense for it to only be 8GB
i think for the max racconfig it’s just intel being an ass. i think the max racconfig being 64GB has been a thing for easily a decade at this point

@IngaLovinde upgrading ram is imo very useful if you are getting device second hand
my t470 raccame with 8GB but now i got it a more reasonable 24GB. could even upgrade it to 64GB if i really wanted to

actually it turns out holmium is named after the hometown of the discoverer and then there’s also scandium (named after scandinavia), thulium (greek name for scandinavia), tantalum (greek mythological character), and gadolinium (the person who did not find it) all originally discovered in that one town

@flesh @deadpan_c it originated as an in-universe slur for robots in star wars. the thought process behind how it is used in-universe is exactly the same as it is for slurs in the real world for real humans. i think it is not unreasonable to infer from that that you still think slurs conceptually are fine, the issue to you is just who they are used against
