And just because i couldn't leave without a comparaison "what was updated": the news headline indeed shrinked one line smaller.

And yes bonus content: they really did mention "the app" in a 1980's system

Teletext made in new system

Since today, teletext has been produced in a new system. Users could notice this this morning by a number of imperfections. A bug with the display of diaeresis has already been fixed. The colored quick keys are also being adjusted, so that you can quickly go from the 101 to the weather and from the 601 to football.

The new system was necessary because the old one, Cyclone, dated from 1980 and could no longer be maintained. With the new system, Teletext can continue for many years to come, in the well-known ‘retro’ style.

For TV users, news headlines have become smaller. This way they look nicer in the app and the messages have one line more text.

news / domestic / abroad / sports

This sounds like the kind of thing that retro computer enthougiasts would have an absolute nerdgasm about!

I certainly do like how the netherlands still have a news service from the early 80’s still in operation today, with no ads and a ton of random useful information.

They have news, road disruptions, sport, weather, finances, airplane departure times, water levels, boat disruptions, sun and moon rise and fall times, train disruptions, world clock and more, all in a simple distraction-free system with a genuine retro look! Cudos, guys.

I am fed up with it, can someone please ID this song I had on my hard disk for quite a while?

Given the name (splhearth.mid) and the style (vaguely proggy) I thought it might be a cover of Atom Hearth Mother by Pink Floyd, but whilst there are similarities the two are still very different in construction.

I have listened this song so many times on repeat now, I just wanna know where it comes from!

(i myself got it from an unusual place for sure but shush)

@foone As a proficient laptop-and-handheld gamer, i'd rather make the layout a little more compact and duplicate the action keys, so that i can eat crisps with my left hand (or, say, use a trackpad. I track with left whilst i mouse with right) whilst gaming with my right hand
The modified layout. The first …

alcohol, hot mix drinks, ask for advice
Show content
Relatively recently discovered that I love alcohol like I love my woman, hot! 🤗 (i am so sorry in advance for this terrible pun)

I made this drink mixing tea, boiling water, rum, whiskey (in this case Canadian Maple Whiskey) and honey. It could use some hint of mint, but otherwise I love it and drank the whole pot!

I wanna experiment more with hot alcohols, does anyone have any advice?

I never was the biggest fan of cocktails because they were too cold to me, never thought about experimenting like this before but I really love it so far!

Coffee experts of Fedinet: why does my original stainless steel Bialetti (XL? It's rather big) sometimes randomly produce what I can only describe as the Mother of all Crema's™, a stupidly foamy crema that persists from the first drop right up to the time i shut it off? It does not persist in the cup, and the resulting coffee tastes fine (the coffee out of this thing is god-tier anyways). It's just more of a curiosity. Beans used: cheapish Hema medium-roast, freshly grinded on my handgrinder's finest setting.
