so i looked a bit into it and like
it appears that all of that absolute noise was about servo’s team discussing very slightly moving back on a “absolutely no gen ai” policy?
one that is likely very difficult to effectively enforce and if it is also likely results in a decently high false positive rate
where are all of the social media outrage cycles for all of the projects that don’t have any policy on ai generated code? (which is like a ton of them)
it’s like you just want to broadcast your fundamentalist values and label everyone slightly less fundamentalist than you as bad
the proposed changes are absolutely minuscule, and servo’s technical steering committee is seemingly trying to find an equitable solution to this question. this, naturally, cannot include fundamentalist positions

the funniest thing about “pausing” the tariffs is that trump erodes trust further: by massively changing the us’ foreign policy from day to day, it is not possible to racconduct trade predictably and effectively. having to pay 30% tariffs on imported goods sucks, not knowing what the tariffs are in worse, and will make raccompanies wary about importing things to the US
