re: sexualized violence

but even this analysis fails to account for non-binary people (which I'm one of), so it has to be made perfectly clear:

You can be a perpetrator of sexual violence regardless of sex and gender.

You can be a victim of sexual violence regardless of sex and gender.

Yes, the statistics say the vast majority of perpetrators are men, and the vast majority of victims are women, but in spite of that:
sexual violence can go in all directions in individual cases.

sexualized violence

I am once again calling for people to stop spreading the narrative that perpetrators of sexualized violence are always male, and their victims are always female

1. there are genders other than male and female
2. it reeks of gender essentialism (possibly even biological essentialism)
3. it makes it harder for non-female victims of sexualized violence to even realize they have been victims of sexualized violence and get help/justice
4. it makes it harder for victims of offenders who aren't male to realize what happened and get help/justice

proposing an alternative to the bechdel test where you would genderbend every named character and see if people complain about the lack of meaningful male characters

@Rusty @janne if they enforced 64k pages (which is the largest common denominator among common and a bit less common platforms), it would run likely faster, at the cost of maybe needing more memory (how much is application-dependent)

@Rusty @janne apparently so, except there are no performance gains to enforce 4k pages. only space gains

@ben @foone oh amazing

the spec you linked introduces even more ambiguity:

A number is very much like a C or Java number, except that the octal and hexadecimal formats are not used.

a c number can be in binary format (since c23), which doesn’t match the textual, graphical, or bnf-like descriptions of the type in any of the 3 specs

also neither make an attempt at setting ranges or precision for the type, so parsing every number as 0 is perfectly legal.

at least it doesn’t do the ecma404 mistake of having a textual description of numbers that contradicts itself (you can have all of the c-like floating point literal characters in there except that all numbers have to be representable using a sequence of digits (which +, -, ., and e definitely are not)

@ben @foone that’s yet another spec incompatibility in json. perfect format no notes. we should build everything on it

@ben @foone i’m not sure where it says that

ecma-404 doesn’t define what duplicate object keys mean. rfc8259 recommends against it, says parser behavior is unpredictable
