Gonna make a subclass of pseudorandom functions that take ideas from object-oriemted programming and call them Pseudorandom Object-Oriented Functions

Or PROOF for short

It will immediately make every mathematician cross with me, but it'll be totally ungoogleable

And therefore, the definition will be indistinguishable from random [math papers].

@soatok You can't miss the opportunity to also come up with a more abstracted version, Pseudo Object-Oriented Functions. Just for the acronym alone.

@ticho OOFs as well, for how my crypto nerd friends will react when they see my joke

@soatok upload an implementation on a matrix chat room and refer to it in the paper as “on matrix”

@charlotte @soatok use the acronym from "on linked Matrix" for/in discussions about Matrix's encryption

@viq @charlotte This is starting to remind me of the time, at $company, we spend most of a morning standup trying to think of the worst name for the next sprint.

"We miss [coworker that's on vacation]" was a top contender.

"Prod" (as in caddle prod, but also production) came up too.

@viq @soatok describe the size of the source code OLM as the determinant

@soatok @charlotte recently coworker was preparing a public presentation about how work does testing, and was trying to come up with Legally Distinct Name for what it's called internally, and had a kick out of my suggestions of "NotProd" and "I Can't Believe It's Not Prod" (ICBINP, ik-beenp if you're in a hurry)

@ticho @soatok to be honest POOF sounds more like an attack on PROOF, Proof Output OutFlow, maybe.

@soatok @charlotte well, yes, but a way to indicate that the cows on this particular pasture are, so to say, not for consumption, as they may sporadically float, explode, or otherwise show unexpected behaviours

@viq @charlotte Spherical Cows. Or "Heispheres" (heifer + spheres)

@soatok
Is that before or after the explosion? Or are they simply inflatable?
