My god just use waypipe. Ssh has no business knowing about what a window is

@Mae the funny bit is, x11 hasn't been network-transparent for decades
moving all rendering to the client side and the optimizations that were required to make that usable (shared memory buffers, anything involving a GPU...) broke all of this because they inherently require the x server to be on the same machine as the clients
I don't think those idiots have ever tried to use x11 forwarding (it's absolutely awful)

@Mae wait but doesn't ssh have a very limited support for Unix socket forwardng, supporting only 2 sockets: the X11 one, and the ssh-agent one?

@novenary @Mae yeah, i have both waypipe and x11 forwarding enabled by default for racconnections to my pc at home and the usability difference between wayland and x applications is absolutely staggering

@charlotte @novenary I tend to just use waypipe instead of vnc because it works much better
