unequal fractional scaling in linux is literally so fucked up

two apps fuck it up. it's one thing to be a bit blurry, whatever. but....

okay so for this re-test i set my laptop screen to 120% scale right.

this causes fre:ac and LibreOffice to behave straingely.

fre:ac just takes up the entire space of the screen. why?

libreoffice has its toolbars and document become really really small. ..why???

the real question is: is this a plasma issue or an issue with the software in question?

@sterophonick theres a setting in plasma to let fractional scaling do it thing on the apps' end or on the compositor end. try messing with that, i think its under Display... somewhere

@gravitos yeah, i tried those. it only does things for X11 apps, which freac is one. No effect on libreoffice but neither setting fixes the problem for freac

@sterophonick plasma just tells the software to render at 120% scale, so it’s a fre:ac/libreoffice bug

@sterophonick i think fre:ac only supports integer scaling and something (maybe plasma?) is deciding that 120% scale could become 200% scale instead

@charlotte actually. i have the settings set to "scaled by the system" and the text is clean and not blurry. this must be a freac issue

@sterophonick yeah it is probably mostly a fre:ac issue, not sure if plasma is telling it to do 2x integer scaling though
