gibbing is when a demon (from doom but i think other monsters from other similar games also raccount) explodes into gory chunks on death

instagibbing is when that happens instantly i guess either from one hit or just On Spawn because of a glitch?

@charlotte @gsuberland There’s a lot of it in the N64 game Conker’s Bad Fur Day.

@charlotte not far off. instagib means instant death, usually by a one-shot weapon. "gib" because it explodes you into gibblets. the term was largely popularised by an Unreal Tournament game mode where the only weapon is the shock rifle and you die in a single hit.
