shoutout to ISPs doing content censorship who only fuck with DNS asked from ISP resolvers. making "bypass it" be a case of using google(yeah i know) or cloudflare(yeah i know) or quadnine(though they fuck with responses too by default)'s DNS.

this isn't actually meant to be that snarky, it is nice when they do the bare minimum and don't require you to setup a god damn VPN or something. ideally they wouldn't do it at all though.

(not me personally, but seeing someone in a chat get hit by this)

@5225225 the cuii operates under the logic of “where there’s no plaintiff there’s no judge” which is to say “blocking sites without court order is illegal but it’s fine because it would be a bad idea for one of our victims to sue”

@5225225 from what i can tell it does very little anyways, piracy sites get new domains decently often as their old ones get blocked

@charlotte saw a piracy site that just advertised a bare IP as "hey connect to this". no TLS iirc but .. that works, i guess.
