@rose lmao what
also all this bullshit is obviously extruded slop I'm pretty sure that's not allowed by codeberg lol

@novenary idk if they started enforcing it yet
if they did then they're really bad at it because like every other repo i look at on codeberg has a claude.md

@novenary @rose yeah within seconds i found a config for a tool named “deslop” which specifically is for deduplicating AI slop code neopossum_upsidedown

@charlotte @novenary that looks like a perfectly reasonable commit, a tool that seemingly detects slop based on specific heuristics has a (claimed) false positive for code that may look like vibecoded code but may be from a real dev, remember that llm bots are trained on real world code, if it does something it's most likely because it saw similiar things before

@rose @novenary

Deslop finds duplicate code across nine languages, ranks what to remove first, and tells your coding agent when similar code already exists.

(emphasis mine)

and the // Step 1: is something LLMs love to emit; I even spotted an em-dash in the diff

@charlotte @novenary where is that quote from, i can't see it anywhere
and i already talked about the code comments, there are people who comment like that, the same way that there are people who use em-dashes, em-dashes weren't invented specifically for ai use

@rose @novenary the quote is from the getting started page on the deslop website

i am saying this also as a user of the em-dash and i have seen step enumeration primarily in programming tutorials. The format is also identical from what LLMs emit

additionally, the project is about a year old, has one author, is over 100MB in size, and the code frequency graph goes up to 800,000 lines of code

the stat over the last 200 commits (which covers about 1 day of commits) is:

8965 files changed, 989909 insertions(+), 52252 deletions(-)

@charlotte @novenary Maybe first actually check what you're talking about
the readme of overy-by me links to the projects, deslop links to https://github.com/chinmay-sawant/deslop which is not deslop.live

@rose @novenary which is, as described in the literal readme of overby-me, “[a] best practive analyzer for AI-generated code”

there is also an entire fork of openclaw in there

@charlotte @novenary where the fuck is the openclaw fork in the deslop repo
no one is arguing about wether or not the overy-by repo is generated or not, im just pointing out that your methods of trying to detect/call out ai are straight up wrong

@rose @novenary ai/ironclaw

also no you have been screaming at me about this for several minutes now and given me to understand that someone manually wrote all that. void of there being a claude/agents.md or co-authors there’s mainly heuristics in the code itself. any one of these is wrong in isolation but it’s highly unlikely that someone who does not vibe code does all of what i mentioned

@rose @novenary oh

i mean overby-me repo, not deslop repo

@rose @novenary anyways like

i pointed at this commit because it removed comments that LLMs like to generate (strange if someone actually genuinely manually wrote them) while simultaneously adding a tool that specifically lints ai generated code
