oral habits of mine, which are disadvantageous:
historically, I can resolve most of these by having snacks always available. tasty yummy. but like damn. it’s impossible to have an endless supply of potato chips or popcorn or whatever, plus I get tired of it, plus it leaves stuff between my teeth (sensory nightmare), plus it’s not necessarily healthy?
however all of these are also resolved by pacifier. highly recommend to anyone experiencing one or more of above issues.
@sodiboo saaame, i can’t help but chew on EVERYTHING
getting a chew toy helped for a while, until i chewed it to death
@luna it is possible to fuck up a pacifier from chewing . I think “teether” is like a pacifier but chew toy but for human. no experience with them but might be something you need. although a lot of my behaviors involve chewing, I find that mainly I need to occupy my mouth. like, in a social context I actually don’t need a pacifier at all because talking satisfies my oral needs. but in solitude, a pacifier is perfect . something to suck on.
@sodiboo yeah i was gonna say that just sounds like you need a chewtoy or a pacifier
@luna I can help the chewing but I can’t help the “mouth always needs to be doing something”
@sodiboo Yea definitely same, i just need my mouth to be busy
the thing that i had was essentially just a piece of relatively hard silicone, and i think it was one of those. it managed to survive for a surprisingly long time
@sodiboo i need a pacifier or a proper chew toy it seems.
undefined@sorrowl yes! and I implore you and all the others in the replies to go purchase one! totally worth it
@cuddlebug this also satiates the oral fixation but I don’t have someone’s arm available most of the time also it leaves bruises
