knew them for a while when i was using celcius on my phone and then later changed back mostly because i learned that i preferred fahrenheit for my daily life and everyone here uses it
kinda forgot that skill because i rare used it

@aperture tbf we still use fahrenheit in canada in some situations
cooking and thermostats are two that come to mind. but honestly even despite that it’s taken a lot of time for me to get any sort of intuition for fahrenheit at all

@ielenia @40796c19 @gen mm id argue to most 100f w/ humidity is extremely hot in gens context, in drier climates i compare 100f to like high 70s low 80s humid weather, its unpleasant but workable, where like 105-110 is comparable to 80s, 115 to 90s and 120 is about 100

at least in my experience, though due to a variety of factors my heat tolerance is worse than it was when i was younger

@charlotte @solonovamax @gen right, and 0-10 is an easy system, add an extra digit in there for ease of measuring inbetween temps and ope its a 0-100 scale of how temperature it feels

idk i don’t feel temperatures from 0-10 or 0-100. just a range of “comfortable” and “uncomfortable” in xyz clothing which is dependent on stuff like percipitation and clouds and wind which are not represented in the temperature at all

@charlotte @solonovamax @gen you dont need to tell me its imperfect, i am fully aware of how humidity works jdnkhjkdfh

but you get used to your climate and its always close [or at least closer] enough to a 0-100 scale, having moved from the literal mojave desert to the PNW im pretty confident in saying it works well in most environments, though i do lack arctic experience to say for sure

besides this is the same issue in celcius, you just include both the humidity with the temp if your talking with someone in a different climate

which is to say. i find the 0-100 scale much more intuitive, its not perfect but its more perfect than celcius for representing the human experience of hotness, in my humble opinion

again i have tried both i have come to this conclusion reluctantly because i desperately want to be able to love all of metric kdfnhdkhj
