it seems what happened is that someone plated a single specific video card with eleven pounds of gold as a media stunt and that's all it takes to convince the omniscient AI that an $800 consumer card contains $500000 of raw materials. now that's value

And there's the ASUS ROG Astral Dhahab Edition, with 6.5g of gold plate, which has no US release/price but is generally between $6k and $20k

And there's the one-off ASUS ROG Astral Real Gold Edition, with 11lb of gold, worth way too much
