it's kinda funny when things in the past try to make "futuristic" stuff, like, things they predict will be a staple in the future

but then it turns out that never ended up happening

but because it's not in our current time, it somehow still feels like it's from the future

@EeveeEuphoria on the other paw we have metropolis from which the bits we remember (been a hot minute since we last watched it) which you could probably sell as a contemporary/near-past dystopian story now

@EeveeEuphoria the most futuristic thing about the movie now is probably the Maschinenmensch which we aren’t that far from creating. we already got humanoid robots, and computers that generate text that statistically resembles human language
