Do you actually use Caps Lock in your day-to-day?

@argv_minus_one for… typing in all caps? what? this is such an odd question “what for”. Yeah I like to YELL INTO THE VOID ON THE COMPUTER SOMETIMES. but also I’m a programmer and I often have to deal with IDENTIFIERS_USING_THIS_NAMING_CONVENTION (be it variables, constants, enum values, etc) or maybe I want to stylize a hex literal in all caps. so of course I use caps lock any time I need to type an all-caps string that’s longer than like 3 characters

@sodiboo @argv_minus_one honestly it is not “separate key” useful but we are on the 2nd century of this fucking design so it ain’t getting changed

Third century? You mean to say there were early mechanical typewriters with Caps Lock? Fascinating.

@argv_minus_one @sodiboo sorry i edited, looked it up and a shift lock showed up in the late 19th century

was under the impression that some form of it existed for as long as typewriters existed ^^’
