setting nixpkgs.config.allowNonSource = false; on its nixpkgs config and seeing how many binary (as opposed to non-binary) packages it has

@livingshredder still going through it but a lot of it is fetch-nupkg stuff being tagged as binaryBytecode binaryNativeCode (pessimistically, but that's probably true, since you ship dlls it seems, not source code)

... so every .net dependency is shipped as a binary? fun.

@livingshredder

sed --in-place "/ENDNONSOURCEPREDICATE/i $(nix flake check 2>&1 | grep --after-context 1 allowNonSourcePredicate | tail -n1)" system/configuration.nix
git commit --message "meow." .

learning to write an expression to give all failing packages? probably 30 minutes

writing a script that can be put into watch to run constantly (it's around 33s per evaluation) that automatically appends the package to the config, then re-checks? 5 minutes, then it can walk away and do something else.

the commit is in case sed does something weird and nukes the file on bad input or something

@5225225 huh, also what are you using that requires .net packages?

@livingshredder currently assetripper (tool to extract files from unity games, i don't use it at the moment but no point in uninstalling/reinstalling it as needed. but it's good for poking at ultrakill's game files)

and probably some other stuff

@charlotte @livingshredder anyways https://codeberg.org/5225225/dotfiles/commit/b525608d5478249501fa6e3f4ddd7d2c6af521a8 is the full list

(not going to actually run this on my system since it's a pain in the ass to keep up to date, but as a fun snapshot it's interesting)

huge amount of it is .net stuff
