it must be a really fun gig to work for a VPN company, since they want to advertise “servers in 70 countries” or whatever, your job is just to fly to increasingly less-well-known countries, hang out with some people there, and convince someone to let you leave a computer plugged in

I assume that’s how this works, I guess it’s possible they have actual rack space but I’m sure it’s still someone’s job to go set up a server to Comoros because a competitor is now offering 71 countries

@xeno i think a lot of them are just rented servers, making it significantly more boring

@5225225 @xeno often there are also significantly fewer physical location than what they sell, they just get the ip geolocation of some of their ips changed
