ben@lubar.methere's this recurring thing among Gamers who have never made any kind of creative work where they find out something was cut from a game and it becomes their holy quest that they must restore that thing to the game regardless of the (often as simple as "we tried it and found out it wasn't good") reason for the thing being cut

ben@lubar.menow, if you're the kind of (lower-case) gamer who is actually interested in the game development process and you do something like reconstructing Portal 2 levels from development screenshots, that's cool as hell keep doing that
but like
the reason the numbers in the filenames of whatever game you're looking at have gaps in them is that they tried a bunch of stuff and only put the stuff that ended up being good in the final game
the game would not be "better" or "more complete" if it also included the stuff that wasn't good

@ben credit cards are also less common outside of the us. most germans do not have a credit card, and people that have previously filed for bankruptcy usually can’t own a credit card
also wrt to the 19 year old account, i think that is just as good of a measure as having a credit card added (since nobody checks it’s your credit card)
