slightly spicy take: the default 'warranty' period in EU should be 4 years, not 2 years, because the "what is reasonable to expect" that those "2 years" come from was determined in the context of an environment created by capitalist incentives, and so it is currently at a level that is convenient for capitalists, not at a level that would be reasonable for either the environment or consumer rights

@joepie91 it should also depend on the environmental impact of production and disposal, as well as how well-reusable or recycleable it is
