@Nyx *GMT+1, you're only one hour ahead of the UK rn. You're still UTC+2, but GMT+1.

@Nyx @bachimusprime Counter-correction: UK is currently on BST (British Summer Time) which is GMT+1, so GMT+2 was correct

Counter-counter-correction: GMT is deprecated in favour of UTC, UK currently is UTC+1 and youse are UTC+2

@bachimusprime @Nyx yeah yeah same thing, English spelling is fake

Also no complaints about summer time allowed from anyone living further south than Scotland

@bachimusprime @Nyx it's kinda funny you corrected BrEn to USEn spelling but not the Ulster Scots word which is technically literally not English

@bachimusprime
@Nyx they are the same for most practical purposes

utc is based on atomic clock time with leap seconds, gmt is based on solar time and thus runs very slightly slower (about 1 si second per year?)

@bachimusprime @Nyx didn't know that, and the number of native Ulster Scots speakers is pretty small so I guess that makes it an English word now after all
