the idea is that you give the company some special license that is not AGPL so that they can turn your code proprietary

in too many cases this also includes a copyrigh reassignment to the company

the goal is that you have to follow the AGPL but they don’t have to (and then they choose the AGPL because for quite a few projects it might simply not be possible to follow it)

@charlotte I will probably continue using it, but yes I would never contribute to it directly. Maybe things like Vaultwarden.

Same for all software backed by a company that is not clearly disconnected like Godot and W4Games.
