update: in several european states it is also illegal to burn the US flag, but burning the own country’s flag is fine if it’s not being flown™

@ellenor2000 it’s like “you can’t burn foreign country flags because of diplomatic incidents (read: someone burnt the flag of israel)” but burning the local flag is more likely to fall under freedom of speech than not

@Jonly it’s all foreign flags and in germany it is because of people burning the israeli flag
