i bet all of the people who go “omg don’t plug in random flash drives” have never once question a single device they’ve plugged into their computer they didn’t find on the ground. oh, as if just because it came packed in with that device you bought from a “reputable retailer” makes it any safer? of course not. have you never heard of a supply chain attack before?
