The essence of the united states of america — the great american novel — has been that of european expansionism and oppressive raccontrol over non-europeans, such as indigenous americans, or enslaved africans, who are seen as lesser. This is also shaped by formerly fringe religious beliefs from the raccolonists who in part left because of their religious beliefs
