How to use bluetooth headphones with multiple devices:

1. Every time you switch between devices, turn the headphones off and hold the power button for approximately one hour to put them in pairing mode. Then, on the device you want to use the headphones with, click ten times until you get to the bluetooth system settings. Click on the device, wait for the device to query all the Qualcomm™ MegaUHXD®-4JKADFGJAJSAJDX®™ options and pop up the device info where you can pair with the headphones.
2. Every time you switch between devices, turn off bluetooth on the old device and turn it on on the new one. Spend an hour searching your closets in confusion because the backup backup backup phone decided to turn itself on and yearns for the days where it could at least be useful as a media player. 3. Give up and use a lightning to USB-C to tulip plug to coax to 3.5mm adapter cable.

@anya And people wonder why I refuse to buy wireless ear buds. The only device I currently have that lacks a 3.5mm headphone jack is my new phone, and I bought a USB-C adapter for that purpose.

Wireless ear buds may have the convenience of not having wires that can get tangled or limit working distance, but:

• They're small and can easily be lost or separated
• They have to be recharged from time to time (and usually come with a case that must also be kept track of)
• Switching device inputs seems like more of a hassle than physically unplugging and moving a cord

@anya meanwhile my headphones have had an enlightening moment where they realised they’re actually poly and can now connect to multiple devices at once. Sadly they also have ADHD and can only ever handle one conversation at a time, so only one device gets to play audio and the others are muted

@anya and this is why you use Apple AirPods which just magically work most of the time (unless you dare to pair them with a non-apple device which will keep yanking them and messing up the handover until you manually disconnect it)

@anya No multipolar cable is complete without a breakout into individual banana plugs. That includes Apple's Lightning.
