TIL “Blue” and “Threshold” are the codenames for Windows 8.1 and 10.

@niconiconi learning from these constants that Windows Vista (preceding Windows 7) is actually Windows 6.0 which actually makes a lot of sense. and then apparently Windows 7 is actually Windows 6.1, Windows 8 is Windows 6.2, and Windows 8.1 is Windows 6.3, and then Windows 10 is Windows 10.0. Thank you Microsoft, never change.

@sodiboo @niconiconi for a brief period of about a month or so during early win7 dev the nt version got set to 7.0 before it was 6.1

windows 10 *should have been* nt 6.4, most people who care about such things laughed when the version got bumped again to 10.0
