are you guys excited for half-life 2: episode 1?

@root there’s a new one coming? so crazy! I think I overheard the cool kids talking about it during lunch the other day. and I who haven’t even played half life 2, will have to figure out how to set up that “steam” thing valve launched alongside to play the game… I hope my old athlon can run it

@cuddlebug steam is just another fad. I doubt it’ll take off when CDs are much more suitable for game storage

@root yeah. I don’t see it realistic for people to download games of that size off the internet, even with a blazing fast 5Mbit/s DSL connection from B2. and half life 2 comes on a whopping five CDs! I’m sure once they are no longer limited by the size of a CD they will get even lazier with optimisation and you will see games exceeding five gigabyte in size. then I’ll have to upgrade my harddrive! it never ends…
