@lea do you mean 2b2t? that’s not the oldest still alive Minecraft server. minecraftonline gets that claim to fame, and it is not a toxic hellhole (haha), it has real rules and moderation.

@lea

You will not be banned for anything you say, aside from spamming. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Swearing;
  • Personal attacks;
  • Racial or cultural insults;
  • Asking to be banned.

hm. what the fuck.

The entire purpose of Free Speech isn’t just to let offensive people say offensive things. It’s about not letting others classify you as an offensive person saying offensive things just to shut you up.

man these freeze peach people are literal 1:1 clones of each other huh
do any of them ever say anything original

MCO uses “Bullying” to refer to what is often called “camping” in PvP environments. MCO’s “bullying” term does not refer to ingame speech in any way.

Intentionally being insulting or offensive will be treated as an open invitation to PvP

okay but they DO openly allow bullying racists, and bullying isn’t otherwise normally allowed. so in theory (no idea if players do this in practice), the players must moderate the chat by making the lives of assholes no fun at all, spawncamping them and forcing them to just leave the server. and even the actual moderators are allowed and encouraged to moderate chat in this way.

this is kinda funny. like this isn’t a great policy but I will admit it’s a funny one. like this is the kinda shit you come up with as a joke. “what if there was a server that works like this”. and everyone laughs. but then they made it irl

While there is in-game free speech, this does not apply to builds that appear on the live map. The server is hosted in Germany, in which displaying swastikas or NSFW content without restrictions is illegal.

??? wouldn’t this apply just the same to Minecraft chat??? how is it not illegal to openly and explicitly allow hatespeech and racial insults on a platform? there’s no way Minecraft chat is somehow above the law???

@sodiboo @lea probably some CYA bs, because they would be the ones publishing it, whereas they probably just think the in game chat (since it’s not logged or published or sth would just be the liability of the chatters (this is likely incorrect)

@sodiboo although i do think they should make 2b2t take care of the hate speech in their chat too

it’s a cool concept and i like its lore but they shouldn’t be providing a safe space for bigots lol
