it’s funny how any time someone complains about fairphone being too expensive the response people give is “well have you considered that you’re actually literally killing babies if you can’t afford to spend $1000 on a phone that has worse specs than a $200 one so stop being poor”

@eri they are doing the framework thing about caring about their one thing exclusively where it benefits them

who cares that they are breaking compatibility with devices that probably only needed minor maintenance since 1970 — they are selling bluetooth earbuds now

@charlotte yeah i really hope that someone notices that there’s this gaping wide hole in the market for tech devices that aren’t glued shut and fills it

@eri yeah at its current point its such a bad deal even with the fact that its materials are more ethically produced

i mean the removal of the headphone jack alone is just
okay. i see whats going on here

@eri ethical tech be like: here are worse specs than most things out rn, with none of the actually useful [and cheap to implement] features of the past, and its more upgradable than our competition [because they dont care about upgradability at all we just let you swap out 1 component] and it also costs 5x as much please invest in my startup

@eri well, does make a cheaper option with their 2e that is also repairable and not a feature regresion compared to my 3+…

  • Obviously I withed Fairphone and/or Teracube would make some and options and not let brands like (eho do exactly 0 post-release updates!) dominate that market…
