brief reminder that the #klimaticket is valid on #regiojet trains (until the first stop across the border) – which is not the case for öbb trains (at least not on these routes!)
i didn't know about this, was very surprised when i found out, and then forgot about it again. so, here's the reminder!
edit: apparently you can travel without reservation, but you will "be seated" in low-cost and you won't get any on-board service (which makes sense). i just wonder how well this works in practice
@bananas i think groceries are cheaper in czechia,,
(my thought process is more towards taking a free train across the border and then booking onwards domestic trains, which might be cheaper than international services. but i don't plan on going to either country atm, so i'll probably forget about it again)
@bananas idk how reliable this source is that i just found, https://ec.europa.eu/eurostat/statistics-explained/index.php?title=Comparative_price_levels_for_food,_beverages_and_tobacco
@bananas the diagram says the netherlands are in the 90-100 area... but maybe that's changed, idk

@sk although at the time i was comparing against the uk which is even more expensive than the netherlands. austria looks very cheap compared to london.
If you arrive on a RegioJet train without a seat ticket, you will be seated in the Low cost carriages (if there is a seat available)
and if no seat is available, i'm sure standing until the next station (which is always the one across the border) will be fine, right? :')
