@jeder @ShadowJonathan this is why we moved away from it as soon as we could we got a vps there and the NEXT FUCKING DAY we had a like 6 hour outage. then again a week later. then nothing for months

@jeder @ShadowJonathan their vpses also seem overprovisioned in some way? the performance is a Lot worse than the specs suggest

@sam @ShadowJonathan yeah, raw performance of my arm vps on hetzner is like way bigger than whatever i had with xeon contabo vps

@sodiboo @ShadowJonathan used it for a few years for besties' infra and it was such a bad experience. definitely okay most of the time but i can't tell you how many times they were offline for hours with zero notice

@jeder @ShadowJonathan honestly that's why I'd probably only get a VPS if that means I can use it as a reverse proxy to a home server of mine

@jeder @ShadowJonathan right now my whole infra is a bit of a mess but if I ever get to sort out things proper, I will move everything to a neat little closet and host everything there instead (with power-saving things in mind too because the last thing I need is an electricity bill that just- ​)

@jeder @ShadowJonathan one random idea I have as well is just having a little extra server which does all the uptime monitoring for me effectively (so that if everything goes down, it will at least properly say this).
