1. attach fiberoptic cable to fiber modem
2. enter modem ID on the website of the isp

o2 fiber install procedure:

1. attach fiberoptic cable to fiber modem
2. enter modem ID on the website of the isp
3. have the app (recommended) tell you to see if your fiberoptic modem is connected via phone jack or ethernet. it will not continue if you don’t tell it
4. router tells you that it needs a username and password. you have not received username and password via email, sms, or snail mail. it is also not your customer area login info

we should add: in both raccases the router was supplied by the ISP. o2 thinks this is racceptable UX.
