thinking about representations of technology in furry art and how long they take to change

how long will it be to start seeing switch 2s in place of switch 1s

or if a camera UI is needed, how long will it be the "classic" look rather than what apple is doing with iOS 26

@Dex I don't look at a lot of furry art but are they emulating the iOS camera app specifically or is it Android's? I feel like most of the furry artists I know personally use Android phones.

(i thought that a lot of art would swap from switch 1 to steamdeck, and that never happened. similarly, right now i don't think the iOS 26 look immediately reads as "camera" right now compared to a black area with a strip of modes)

@charlotte @Dex Yeah iPads are a lot more popular for art than Android tablets (probably because it has way better stylus support in general, and there's some really good and rightfully-popular drawing apps for it)

but on the phone side of things they tend to use Android in my experience, but mine's probably different than Dex's

@fluffy most i know use android, but a lot of android camera apps i've seen end up following apple's design cues, so i would not be surprised to see the more simplified look spreading

@Dex Good point. It's been a while since I've used an Android device regularly and I remember the camera apps being super vendor-specific even back then, but a lot of them did tend to look like three iOS versions ago.
