when the UK rejoins the EU, not if, but when, they really aughta switch to using the euro, for two reasons:

1) a unified currency is fucking awesome
2) it'll prevent the UK from bloody leaivng again!

@freya Nope. I did like being in the EU but the pound was always stronger.

@FreakyFwoof only reason we could see for this country leaving the EU was people going "oh no! Polish people exist!" also you're not bloody wrong, holy shit the conversions are painful

@FreakyFwoof we kinda wonder whether Scotland'll go for the euro when they eventually realise that there's no way in fuck England's gonna let them leave and just leave anyway. or at least we really hope they figure that bit out

@freya

Technically, there’s no requirement to be in the EU to have it as legal tender, or even to have a parallel local currency but also accept it.

@FreakyFwoof
@freya the pound has been gaining value before the brexit but before and after it either stayed ~the same or crashed massively during the 2008 financial crisis or brexit (which wouldn't really happen if both currencies were both equally affected by these)

@charlotte @freya Yeah. Still slightly higher than the Euro for now though. How long it stays that way is anyone's guess. Truss done fucked it sideways through a rusty spork at one point but it bounced back *eventually*

@freya I don't think absolute value of a currency is a sign of its strength
