My favourite part of watching the local Seattle hackerspace implode is the real sysadmins and network engineers all got banned or resigned

So now they've got the person who tried bullying every single other person away from touching infrastructure trying to monkey-patch everything back to working on her own

As such, Day 1 they've had 8 hours of downtime (and counting)

Literally the moment "everything infra is yours again, [redacted]" she botches it and knocks it all offline

Currently the have three(!) Skylake era Xeon Cisco servers stuffed full of SSD(?) storage for Ceph. Apparently this is "required" to maintain quorum for redundancy. That's then layered into Proxmox, which then runs a Kubernetes cluster that (some) things run in. Partially because IDP is a massive piece of shit and dies *multiple times a day*

Made the error of flipping through the tickets. 962 rolls out "punishment" as a requirement (not "remedy", "redress", or even "consequences". Right to punishment.) That and other ticket references to "HR" (instead of, say, "community management team"?) Again, maybe it's that I'm old and "fuck the pigs" is wholly sufficient to counter the creeping cop-ness. Caveat: outsider glancing in, and not gonna do their homework.
