thinking of switching email providers so I went to Dylan Beattie’s talk for inspiration. surely, he knows what he’s talking about and recommends someone in that talk.

“I do not want anyone here going away and choosing an email platform because of something that I said in this talk. what I am doing here is the equivalent of testing cars by filling them with gravel, setting them on fire, driving them off a bridge, and seeing if they explode before they sink.”

@lucidiot according to his testing, Fastmail is the only provider that allows you to receive emails with spaces in them, and Gmail is the only provider that lies to you saying such an address violates RFC 6531 (even though it doesn’t), and Microsoft is the only provider that makes really goddamn sure that you can’t ever send spam from a moving train.
