@yassie_j @Clarisse it's not NTSC, nor is it PAL, not even SECAM, it's a secret 4th thing (it's PAL-M)

@yassie_j @Clarisse PAL-M is basically NTSC but they use the PAL coloring system instead

i don't know why they thought they needed to invent this but they sure did

Why would Brazil do this to international standards?

@EeveeEuphoria @yassie_j @Clarisse i guess for the same reason why NTSC is 60Hz and PAL is 50Hz
it’s nominally the line frequency (even though i don’t think any television actually synchronizes on line frequency as opposed to the signal frequency)
