If you see a lost F-35 wandering around (on autopilot), please call its owners.

"A spokesperson for Joint Base Charleston confirms the aircraft was placed in autopilot before the pilot ejected.

Anyone with information on the F-35's whereabouts is asked to contact the Base Defense Operations Center at 843-963-3600."

GOES-16 satellite imaging around when that plane went missing. (too small to spot.. but it was very cloudy, so very unlikely anyone saw it up there). Also less likely a passing high resolution satellite caught its signature.

So... unless the F-35 has an automatic distress beacon of some sort (which survived), feasible some hiker off trail in the Appalachians comes across a mysterious smashed bit of airplane 20 years from now with identifying markings... Or, someone will dredge it from the Atlantic. (ps. don't tell the Chinese).

@scotttiger Yep... looks like 3 hours of flight before it would crash, if not sooner.
