Tokodon is probably the best desktop Mastodon client I've used so far, though sadly that's not a very high bar - it's still clunky, it's just more consistently functional than the alternatives, and I suspect a lot of the issues I have found are incompatibilities with Akkoma

I guess the mobile clients get more attention and are more universally functional because people expect to use apps for websites on mobile. On a PC, you do everything in the browser.

@f00fc7c8 if I'm not using KDE will it basically not work? I don't understand how linux windows managers work

@smitten @f00fc7c8 most KDE apps should still mostly work without KDE but it will be heavy on dependencies

@charlotte @smitten yep, the worst thing that’s likely to happen is the app looking ugly because the theme configuration is basically nonexistent. and that’s fixable.
