@asahi95 As a Dutch person I wanna say definitely do not go to the Netherlands for studying. Tuition is expensive and you will NOT find housing period.

@cell @asahi95 Yeah it really is but mostly because NL and Indonesia have a special bond.

Iā€™ve lived together with like 6 different Indonesian students during my time in uni.

@cell @asahi95 Speaking of Indonesia.

Rutte with his infinite wisdom recently decided to change the acknowledged date of Indonesian independence from 1949 (end of the war) to 1945 (start of the war).

He thinks this is a way for the Dutch to apologize for the war or something, but in reality:

  • Indonesians donā€™t like it because it makes them feel that everyone in the war died for nothing.
  • The start of the Republic of South Maluku is based on 1949 independence, so if we change this date it will also invalidate their claim of independence even more.

Literally nobody is happy this. And I donā€™t know if upsetting the Moluccans yet again is something the Dutch governments wants to do like weā€™ve learned nothing from the terrorist attacks in the 1970s.

@charlotte @SuperDicq @asahi95 Yeah if you are from outside EU/EEA/Switzerland you will have to pay a fee of around 7500ā‚¬ per semester.

@erk @charlotte @asahi95 Still much better than the 20k euro that non-EU students pay in Dutch universities.
