Does someone have pointers on how to make 3d textures? I got the flat colors done a while back and i’m unsure how to proceed from here. Due to the geometry of the model, the shading on the edge between the face and the face fluff seems off. the textures provided in the model have shading baked into the texture in those areas, is there like a guide on how to correctly do that?

@charlotte can you provide an example of what you mean? For normal maps and stuff you'll want to bake them from a higher geometry version of the model, but I'm not entirely sure how to bake lighting results offhand. I need to de-rust with Blender at some point.

@vikxin Oh nvm i figured it out i think. While the original texture does have baked shadows, it doesn’t there, and this is actually just an artifact of blender “auto smooth” shading

@vikxin oh i think it’s actually supposed to be that way? the edge is marked light blue

@charlotte When you say the shading between the edge of the face and the fluff, do you mean where the face meets the cheek corners? What kind of texture are you trying to achieve? :0 I’m not sure from what you said but maybe you’re looking for a bump map or handpainted textures?

@rabbit it turns out the model marks this edge as hard edge, so i think it was intended by the model author

@charlotte gotcha! I do think it looks nice with your custom diffuse fwiw blobcat_friendly

@charlotte light blue means marked as sharp.
