which can run ffxiv?
like i have a 3d gpu from 2017 and i’m pretty sure i’m physically able to run ffxiv on it
the problem is just that the gpu’s drivers are literally from 2008
and os rtaely no longer support!

outside of a proper ssl-style negotiation (beyond just “maybe i should offer an encryption option because some servers are dumb”) there’s no way for the server to know which key you are using, or even if you’re using an aes256-poly1305 key at all
although admittedly the use of webauthn didn’t just pop out of nowhere, it’s been in existence for a year at that point so
