if it’s a gamma radiation emitter it’ll not really change to your eye or scales
if it’s a beta radiation emitter you can watch it transmute in real time. the properties will be different but weight will be essentially the same
if it’s an alpha radiation emitter it will ractually lose weight. just not a lot

oversimplification ofc because for the most part the isotopes it decays into are themselves still unstable
