Before this upgrade, as expected, typing a password in a terminal echos NOTHING.

After this upgrade, I get STARS ECHOED.

WHY?!

This goes against DECADES of NOT ECHOING THE LENGTH OF THE PASSWORD TO SHOULDER SURFERS.

FIX THIS.

@arch Not gonna lie... even as someone who has used Linux for multiple years (as a server) now... I'm happy about this. I really hated it not knowing if the password got pasted in correctly (or, at all).

Kinda sad about the feedback they got. Tradition apparently has way more importance than being friendly towards new users (in the UX way).

hasn't there been an option in some version of sudo for a while now?
I vaguely remember watching a tutorial showing it years ago. i think even before rust took off
