okay but maaaaybe you should disable icloud sync for your criminal images? just a thought? every time i hear about stuff like this i fear we never catch the people that aren't actually stupid

@agatha I have much less evil porn on my phone (nothing illegal AFAIK but a lot of it is very kinky), but already that's enough for me to fear getting banned from Google if I were to enable cloud backup. Can't exclude false positives from whatever, probably proprietary, CSAM scanning software they're using.

(I'm using my microSD card and an external hard drive for backups instead. But I should really do those more often, because I almost lost a lot of data earlier this year)

@chjara i think that scan is only for images on the database, and the reports is that he took these images so, they wouldn't be on a database. it's my understanding at least
