deeply stupid design on my old keyboard (which my roommate was using):
all the documents say to reset it or turn the lights off, you hold down function-esc or function-x for 3 seconds

and don't mention that there's a separate feature that swaps the function key with the left-windows key. So if your windows key suddenly stops working or the lights suddenly go max, you might not be able to solve it using any of the instruction, because what you actually need to do is hold down windows-esc

@foone I will never forget the pocket calculator PC thing I had as a teen that had the letter keys in alphabetical order

@drawnonglass oh that's a legal thing I think! for the SAT (I think?) you can't use a "computer" but you can use a "calculator" and part of the definition of computer is that it has a QWERTY keyboard.
