gonna say it, i do think that even the laziest person imaginable should have a roof over their head, food in their stomach, and access to healthcare

even if someone WAS just lazy and simply didn't want to do anything but lie on the couch and watch tv, they should still have these things. it's irrelevant whether some people aren't actually lazy because everyone, including hypothetical lazy people, should have their basic needs met.

if we have the resources to do it, there is no defense of letting people die because they don't want to work, and much less because they can't

we either have human rights and needs or we don't

@mynameistillian I fully agree but I also believe no one's default is lazy as so many claim.
It's rather just exhaustion - either literal from back-breaking work or from just existing in a world that is so fundamentally not designed for everyone to be equal, safe and have the same opportunities.

Why make the effort when it's virtually impossible to get even the basics met, no matter how hard you try and dedicated you are. Even more so when the majority of the privileged really don't have the actual credentials or character to be where they are.

@mynameistillian if someone would sooner die than work, then there's clearly some deeper underlying problem there. doesn't take a genius to work out that that's someone who must have some severe problems even if you can't identify them

but it you lack basic empathy and have an a prejudicial hatred for 'lazy' people, you won't see the obvious

@LunaDragofelis @mynameistillian Internet connection and/or an Android/Apple phone with cellular service for that matter. Even basic social services are like "you can't use our website you have to use our app" nowadays 😠

@LunaDragofelis @mynameistillian Like, if I was using a Linux phone or a flipphone or smth, I 100% would not have survived a year of homelessness because so many things straight up would refuse to work on a library computer.
