apparently the vscode chat bar is entirely nonfunctional without adding 3rd party plugins

like to the point where in order to make 3rd party plugins show up at all you also need github copilot set up and logged in

including when i want to use my own model on my own fucking pc

also a mandatory login wall but what else is new

if it works it is about as you would expect

the mandatory login wall also comes back every time you restart the editor

they want me to use kde wallet but since i don’t always use kde i use keepassxc as a secrets store instead. this works for all apps except the github extension

@charlotte oh I remember there was some patch for that but I played with that many years ago so I don't remember specifics
