@fasterthanlime btw the videos in this post don't seem to be loading (or is it just me? seems like cdn.fasterthanli.me responds quickly for .avif files but hangs for .mp4, so I'm not sure what would have to happen for that to be the case)

@mei unless it's been before and then it just proxies from object storage and there's a 3-level cache etc.

@mei but let's say it couldn't transcode for some reason the you'd be blocked waiting for a failing task yeah

@fasterthanlime I can't believe you drop this right after I spent a full week trying to make tree-sitter work with typst's HTML output. Thank you so much!!

Alright well time to port tree-sitter proper to Rust I guess 🤷

@llogiq I just want to know it won't be for nothing :)

..probably a public good regardless of docsrs integration (as-is arborium in its current state).

@simon honestly I feel like every time someone says "or we could use wasm!" regarding any rustc-adjacent project, the issue is set aside forever. I don't want to kill this.

@scrabsha @fasterthanlime I used to do it with a hacky way with syntect post-processing before it got added in 0.14, though now I kinda want to switch it out with tree-sitter

@erk @fasterthanlime I'm wondering what the typst devs think about built-in support for tree sitter in typst

@fasterthanlime this was a random idea in the moment, i'm not surprised it has downsides i didn't consider

@simon no worries! it's probably a good idea under other circumstances x) I keep wanting to find usecases for wasm, personally. It's just _really cool_.

@scrabsha @fasterthanlime Given that they closed a PR adding it (in some capacity) 4 days ago, my guess is possible, although in a different way than that pr.
