@eniko You can get more than 50% accuracy predicting the weather by predicting whatever the weather was yesterday. You can get more than 50% accuracy predicting the weather by predicting whatever the weather was this day last year. Getting to be 80% accurate, in contrast, is really hard and requires actually modelling how the atmosphere works.
Probabilistic techniques are great for rapidly getting to a kind-of okay plateau.

And because AI produced things look kinda close to the real deal people buy it. Cause it feels like it just needs a small improvement, even though it's flaws are a fundamental part of the technology
Just don't draw the weird 6th finger. Just don't make up things when you don't have a real answer. Just don't change the environment in an AI generated game entirely if the player turns around 180 degrees
These things *feel* like they're small, solvable problems to people who don't know better. We could easily fix those things if humans were doing the work!
But AI can't. It will never be able to. It can't because not doing those things means it couldn't do anything else either. Like fusion, the solution to these issues will always be 20 years out

In case you aren't Spanish and you don't live in a country with a king, just so you know, the king visited Valencia (the city heavily affected by the Dana and still fighting to clean the streets, rescue survivors if any and retrieving deceased victims)... Making it difficult for the actual volunteers and rescue services to work. He needed a "protecting" team around including police and similar, that blocked the access of the volunteers in many affected areas.

foone@digipres.clubI just checked the logs for a simple HTTP request to their top level site and it defined a content security policy for 92 separate domains.
Including a lot of fun ones with names like "sandbox.company.egg" and "debugging.company.egg" and "embedded.demo.company.egg" and "debug-preview.company.egg"
all of which is pretty questionable when you already defined a *.company.egg policy!

foone@digipres.clubTerrible idea: a scifi story set in a early-20th century idea of the solar system.
Mars is a dying desert covered in canals to bring water from the poles to the sand cities at the equator.
Venus is a humid jungle/swamp full of strange beasts.
Both are fully habitable by humans with no more gear than you'd need to cross the Sahara or venture into the rainforest.
The trick? This is actually a distant future realistic setting. We terraformed the planets specifically to be like that.

as for dialogue, i always either turn it off or set it to a language i don't understand, as i find spoken dialog a major immersion breaker. i'd rather have written dialog i can read at my own pace; but if that ain't there subtitles are an option too.
i wish games would autodetect a music player running in the background; but even when i put an audio cd in my xbox i still need to manually turn off the in-game music. generally not a big deal except for the games that don't have that option; those go in mute.
